The Yarhancor (loose translation: The Moon Devourers) are thought to be the elites with the closest lineage to The Blistered Prince. They are connected to the Sangetar tribe, who splintered off from the Yarhancor, when they sacrificed some of their religious devotion in pursuit of capital and political power. This division is possibly what enabled the Emirsangil to ascend to primacy over vampire society, leaving the Yarhancor as the secondary throne.
Their numbers are much diminished, estimates place them at one quarter of the strength of the Emirsangil, and only one sixth of the number of their connected tribe, the Sangetar. This being so, Yarhancor-related incidents are very rare.
The Yarhancor’s absolute intolerance of sunlight has pushed them deeper into the shadows of vampire society. Their status as a throne has long been in dispute. There are those who whisper accusations that the Yarhancor are a spent force, and that their power lies only in the protection afforded to them by their devout brethren, the Sangetar. Others accuse the Yarhancor of manipulating the religious ideals of the Sangetar, using their number to secure their political and business interests. The Sangetar’s ascetic lifestyle ensures they need little to live on, and that little is said to be financed by the Yarhancor. The Yarhancor, if they truly do still exist, are thought to be extraordinarily powerful in battle at night, which is why accusations of their spent power are only whispered. Their connection to their god grants them immense strength, but also brings with it an aversion to holy symbols and artefacts, as these appear to disturb the ancient power of The Blistered Prince.
The Dark Chapter could exterminate this throne, if it has not already been extinguished by time and the internal conflicts of vampire society, but their diminished number makes them very difficult to locate. It is estimated that less than a dozen Yarhancor are at large in the British Isles, and the bulk of their number are believed to be found in the border countries between Eastern Europe, Western Asia, and the Russian Empire.
To support The Dark Chapter’s hunt for the remaining Yarhancor…
Or don’t. After all, you may wish for the Yarhancor to once more draw upon the strength of their ancient god. But then not even your god will help you.
