The Emirsangil (loose translation: The Blood Princes) have established themselves as the ruling noble group among the thrones. It appears to have been thus since at least the seventeenth century.
It is said those among their ranks are connected through a strong psychic connection, thought to be a throwback to the Scalds. Those forefathers of the modern vampire were thought to hunt in packs and were in turn said to have a psychical connection to their patriarch, The Blistered Prince.
Intelligence suggests the Emirsangil tend not to stay together in large numbers, as their collective consciousness can be exploited as a weakness. While they are physically robust, and their connection can aid them in hunting and combat, it also means that if one of their number feels pain, all proximate Emirsangil feel it. If one of them is killed, the others are weakened and seem almost blinded with agony, leaving them increasingly vulnerable if a battle turns against them. For this reason, a small number of Emirsangil is usually found with a cohort of Kanvoran and Voivodasci around them to aid in their defence and do their bidding.
Their psychic connection and tendency to avoid congregating has enabled them to spread their influence globally. Attempts by other thrones and tribes to overthrow them were reportedly put down rapidly, and no such attempts have been recorded since the sixteenth century.
Emirsangil are notoriously difficult to destroy. Fire and the sun do have an effect on them, but they burn slowly. They must be significantly weakened before the sun has any effect on them at all, and it is thought that many Emirsangil walk among humans in daylight without detection.
