Changes are afoot
Greetings from Newcastle.
I wish to express my whole-hearted thanks for the messages I received in response to the news about the crash. Despite a bit of a setback with my shoulder last week, my body’s behaving pretty much as it should - and even that setback is healing well now. I’ll be a bit happier once I have the Silver Bullet’s successor parked out front.
That won’t be the only change, though. I’ve decided I want to have a bit more fun with my Substack. I’m well on my way toward 200 posts on here (although I’m conscious that most of you receive them directly into your inbox, rather than via the app or my website). I’ll still do my usual updates, but I’m going to try out something new. I want to bring you into the worlds of my writing even more closely than before. I want my emails to really draw you into the world of my work, rather than just telling you about it. I’ve been building up the lore around The Victorian Vampire Chronicles, preparing to take the series through to the next phase. So from June, expect to receive occasional Notes from The Dark Chapter. I haven’t decided how often I will publish these notes (not to be confused with Substacks Notes feature, these will be full posts, but snippets will appear in Notes as well, in the hopes of reaching new readers). I have the first couple lined up, and we’ll see how they go.

My one big ask in this update is this: please sign up for notifications for my next Kickstarter campaign. This one is for A Christmas Blessing. I’ll leave the details to the Kickstarter pre-launch page for now, but if I can get even 1% of my followers here on Substack to just hit the ‘Notify Me’ button on the preview page, Kickstarter will show that the project has followers, and that will encourage more potential backers to watch the campaign and potentially back it when it goes live in the coming days.
You do not have to spend a penny on it. I’m just asking you to help the visibility of the campaign. All that will happen is, when I make the campaign go live, you’ll get an update from Kickstarter. Then you can pledge if you want to get a copy of the book, or you can sit back and just enjoy the updates. So please, follow the campaign…
