My youngest reached level 11 today
Greetings from Northumberland
Just wanted to share something with you in a short message today. It’s my youngest boy’s birthday today. He’s 11. A fantastic, happy little guy. Kind, funny, sporty, smart, musical. I love all three of my children equally, of course. There’s one little difference with my youngest, though. It’s how he reflects that love back. He’s so demonstrative. Underneath that happy-go-lucky exterior, there’s a massive heart. He looks for how to make people feel better, if and when he can.
When he was three weeks old, something happened that seemed like he wasn’t destined to be with us very long. I’m grateful every day that situation turned around. But that situation also caused him to bond onto me - stronger with me even than with his mother. And that bond got me through some dark times, I have to admit.
So to celebrate his 11th, I’ve taken a little something out from behind the paywall for a couple of days. It was originally posted in March 2024. In many ways this is the most personal thing I can share with you.
